In a rapidly changing trade landscape, actors in the diplomatic, trade and investment arenas need skills to drive economic growth, business success and new partnerships.

This new, practical e-publication helps meet those needs. It’s designed in three parts: to understand the trade landscape, deliver excellent services and manage professional and personal challenges. It shares real-life stories through the characters of Asha and Martin, contains useful checklists and key points, and features a new COVID-19 commentary.

It forms part of an integrated offer, alongside an online course from the SME Trade Academy; workshop modules to deliver customized training to groups; and a book, available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. The offerings are part of a long tradition – the International Trade Centre issued its first guide for trade representatives in 1973.

Our aim is to build trade routes to sustainable and inclusive development. This involves helping governments, institutions and businesses build strong regional and global networks. This new e-publication delivers part of that promise.
